What goes into those Photos of the Day?

You'll find a fresh but curated selection of my favorite images - a rhythm of evocative travel pics from current travels as well as my WorldView Photography website.

The IG stream features an array of my favorite subjects. People-portraits, introducing just a few of the amazing folks I meet in the course of my (ongoing!) wanderings. Street photography and images of daily life from far-flung corners of the world. Landscape photography and an array of bird and wildlife photos.  Artful abstracts and detail shots that express the essence of a place or culture in a single image.  

In my frequent travels I am privileged to interact with a wide cross-section of humanity, visit places few people see, and sample an eye-opening array of tastes and experiences. I try to cultivate an open heart, make a point to hang around longer than most people have time for, take occasional risks some may think unwarranted ... and keep my camera at hand.  

I love to seek out and share images that capture "The Moment" or provide windows into the beauty or uniqueness of local culture, wherever I find myself. I'm drawn to explore the transformational effects of light, or try to capture that fleeting but resonant sense of whimsy. Images that make it into my Photo of the Day stream contain tastes of all of this.

Periodically, I further "unpack" things here, on my Behind the Lens blog - fleshing out the photographic moment or the story behind the image, reflecting on life from a photographic perspective, sharing travel tips or featuring a narrative about a high-impact travel experience. From time to time I introduce one of the many galleries on my photo website, digging down to unearth fun treasures that would be easy to miss but may be worth noting.
